[svccridesupdate] Men’s Tour of Britain 9th September

Hi everyone

As you probably know the Men's Tour of Britain is coming to Gloucestershire on Friday 9th September.
Stonehouse Wheelers have been contacted by Gloucestershire County Council asking them if they want to use the finishing straight prior to the arrival of the race in Gloucester Docks. This is the section of closed road along the A4301 to the bottom of Southgate Street and through the finish arch.
Stonehouse Wheelers have been allocated the 1:40 to 1:50 time slot, meeting at the start of the closed road section on the lower part of Southgate Street by the junction with Llanthony Road and Spa Road just before 1:40pm where someone will let the riders on to the road. The race is due to finish at 3:30pm.
Stonehouse Wheelers have invited any SVCC members who would like to join them to ride this part of the route. They are not sure yet if they are going to have a ride or if people will make their own way there. If you are interested in taking part, let me know and I can forward numbers to Stonehouse Wheelers.
I know some members were talking about a SVCC ride that day taking in some of the route which goes along many roads familiar to us. Here's a link to the Tour of Britain website for the route:  https://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/stages/stage-six/
I expect more details will follow on the September ride list.
Regards
