Welcome to Stroud Valleys Cycling Club website.
The club welcomes new faces on all our club rides. We offer a programme that aims to appeal to a range of abilities, from novice through to experienced cyclists. We are essentially a touring cycling club, riding as a group to enjoy the countryside and each other’s company. Most of our rides are on road although some members also offer occasionally off-road opportunities. On our rides list, we grade our rides as easy, medium or hard. Our club motto is “No one is ever left behind!” and there are plenty of experienced cyclists in the club to help new riders choose the most suitable rides, choose a bike and maintain their bike. All rides aim to stop at least once for refreshments either in a café or pub, Sunday and Thursday rides involve a coffee and lunch stop, Tuesday rides have a coffee (summer) or lunch (winter) stop. e-bikers are also welcome to join our rides. Please follow the menu links to find out more about the club.
Our monthly rides list includes
Tuesdays – a mixed grade ride, about 30-40 miles, starting at 1:30pm during the summer and 11:00am during the winter
Thursdays – a medium/hard grade ride, 60+ miles, starting at 9:30am
Sundays – a mixed grade ride, about 50-60 miles, starting at 9:30am
One Saturday or Sunday each month – an easy ride for new, returning or inexperienced riders, about 20 miles on relatively easy terrain
Ad-hoc – an off-road ride
Most rides start in Stroud with the occasional car/cycle ride.
