[svccridesupdate] A Celebration of Christmas for Cyclists

Dear Members,

The club has organised a Carol Service at St Matthew’s Church, Cainscross, for a number of years. However the number of members attending from our club and other local clubs has been falling and last year there were only 30 cyclists at the service.

Your committee has agreed to see if we can make the Carol Service more popular by opening it up to all cyclists and introducing a ride from the Subscription Rooms in Stroud to St Matthew’s Church before the start of the service. The revamped event will be called ‘A Celebration of Christmas for all Cyclists’ and we will encourage parents to bring their children.

The Carol Service this year will take place on Sunday 8th December. We would like as many club members as possible to join the ride from Stroud to the church. We plan to arrange for groups of riders to be led by a club member along the route to the church and back to Stroud after the service.

So if you can help out by riding please make a note of the date and we will let you have further details in due course.

If you do plan to ride please email Steve Brawley at Steve49.brawley@gmail.com

If you don’t want to ride but do want to attend the Carol Service that is absolutely fine and you will be very welcome.

With best wishes,

Clare Smith, Secretary
