[svccridesupdate] Upcoming Events in April and May

As the weather starts to get a bit more Spring-like(?), there are some events coming up over the next few weeks that you might like to take part in. 

Sunday 14th April at St Andrew's Church, Castle Combe. There will be a short service followed by tea and cakes in the church and a chance to chat and meet up with other local cyclists.
There will be a SVCC ride from Stroud to the event (about 55 miles in total) or you could drive and join the ride in Sherston (about 25 miles)  – more details to follow. 

Last year some of the club members took part in a 100km Audax starting in Andoversford which we really enjoyed. 

This year we would like to take part in some other Audaxes as a club and here are our suggestions. They both take place on Saturday May 11th; one is 100km and one is 200km. 

South Glos 100 Audax – starts in Alveston and heads up towards Tetbury and Sapperton, organised by Alex Rendu (who is a frequent visitor to our Carol Service), £6 entry fee; more details here:  https://www.audax.uk/event-details/11011-south_glos_100

For riders who want to give the 200km ride a go, we are also planning to have a 160km ride to help prepare for it!

We would love to see you at the SVCC AGM on Saturday 20th April at 3pm at The Pavillion, Victory Park, Cainscross GL5 4JE. The agenda for the meeting will be sent out later this week. We also need some cakes, biscuits etc. to share after the meeting. 

On Saturday 18th May we are holding a publicity event to promote the club in the Five Valleys Shopping Centre from 10am to 3pm. If you are interested in helping out for an hour or two, let John know (johnthatcher266@gmail.com) or just drop by and come and say hello on the day.
