[svccridesupdate] Tyntestfield/ Mendip Tour/Camping Weekend 11-13 Jul 25

Dear all,

Just to update you on where I’m with this. And give you some preliminary details. 

Options: Keeping it simple! I’m definitely going to do it. Cycle and Camp, even if it’s  by myself. But you are most welcome to join me, just let me know. If you want to do something different then can I leave that with you to organise, guest houses accommodation etc

Dates: Definitely going for Jul 11-13 Jul 25

Departure time: From Wallbridge at 09.30 hrs. You can join me en route. 

Location: Batch Campsite, near Churchill, Somerset.

See attached details. 

It’s all fairly basic, with rudimentary showers and washing facilities. A little up market from wild camping. Right up my street! A very affable chap called Tim runs it. 

The cost per tent is £7. They can also provide a yurt. This can be shared by 6-8 people at a cost of £130.00, but it is negotiable. Just a bell tent at a cost of £100, can be shared.

Whatever, it could be fun, but no thrills or spills!!

There are a couple of pub well within walking distance.

Itinerary:

Fri 11 Jul, all day cycle ride to the campsite.

Sat 12 Jul, I will lead a ride up and around the Mendips. 

Sun 13 Jul, visit Tyntestfield NT property, return home

Routes: I will promulgate

these nearer the time. But it will be a different route there and back. It about 50 miles both way.

I will also organise a Saturday ride for a Mendip tour.

Kit and equipment: Really your choice, this will be what I intended to bring. For sure individually our needs will be different. I will send the list on a separate email.

Please browse through the Batch Campsite details. ASP can you  let me know of your intentions, as I need to book it. I’m purely going to focus on those who want to do the  cycle camping options.
