[svccridesupdate] Tuesday 14th July – Drive to start ride – change of location of ride
I had said that I would do my River Severn / Forest of Dean drive to start ride next Tuesday (14th July). However, I am aware that there are some very significant road works occurring on the route of the drive to the start of the ride (on the A40 at Over Bridge), with reports of delays of 1 to 2 hours; and with no easy way to avoid the problem area.
I have therefore decided to stick with a drive to start ride for next Tuesday, but to do my White Horse Hill ride, using the car park in Shrivenham as the start and finish point. Here is the link to the route we did last year – 35 miles (56.33km) with 1,550 feet (472.5m) of ascent (and there are options to shorten the route if, for example, it is extremely hot):

The ride takes in some lovely villages and Wiltshire scenery, particularly as we cross The Ridgeway.
I will send out full details of how to get to the start point and route etc next Monday. In the meantime, it would be good if those who are able to say that they are planning to join the ride would let me know (by return email) just to check that we have sufficient numbers to proceed with this.
