[svccridesupdate] Tomorrow’s ride to Elkstone

Tomorrow’s ride is to Elkstone (the Knead Bakery Café) , with a usual start time of 11am at Dudbridge.

The 34 mile route takes us via Avening – Cherrington – Sapperton – Daglingworth – the Duntisbournes – Winstone – Elkstone – Brimpsfield – Birdlip – taking own route home (the Ride with GPS route below goes via Jack’s Green and down Wick Street to Stroud – but there are alternatives, such as going through Slad). I will probably peel off between Birdlip and Foston’s Ash.

Here is the link to the route: ridewithgps.com/routes/53798429

We are heading into hilly country, but I have avoided anything horrendous (allowing for one very steep, but very short, corner approaching Brimpsfield) and the overall feet of ascent involved is a modest 2,069.

I am conscious that the Knead Bakery is not the cheapest of venues (you can see their menu via the following link – Elkstone <kneadbakery.co.uk/pages/elkstone> – KNEAD Bakery – there are pastries and cakes available in addition to the all-day brunch items shown on their menu). I guess that there is always the option of bringing your own snacks (to consume surreptitiously) and perhaps just buying a drink at Knead.

At the moment it is looking like it will be cloudy but probably dry (just the chance of a shower in the afternoon).

Hope to see you tomorrow. If you plan to join along the route, it would be helpful if you could let me know.
