[svccridesupdate] Thursday Ride to Bitton and the Golden Valley

Hi Clare,

Your route tomorrow goes through the centre of Minchinhampton. This is currently blocked to motor vehicles due to roadworks at “Westend” at the end of Windmill rd. I’m assuming that pedestrians can get access to the centre of Minch along Westend on the pavement. You may want to continue along the Cirencester Rd and then turn right on Butt St. to get into Minch and pick up the route again at Tetbury St to Cherington.
I will be joining the ride in Minch, just let me know which way you planning to go.
Cheers
Barry

Hi everyone

I have a free Thursday so I’m having a go at leading the harder ride this Thursday – about 75 miles with just over 1000m of climbing.
Meet 9:30am at Wallbridge, Stroud. Then Butterow, Minchinhampton, Cherington, Tetbury, Easton Grey, Alderton with a coffee stop at Burton Farm Shop after about 25 miles.
Then Tormarton, Wick, down the Golden Valley to Bitton where we will join the Cycle Path for some easier cycling with another stop at Warmley Waiting Room after 42 miles altogether.
We will then head back along the Ring Road Cycle Track and then Coalpit Heath, Iron Acton, Itchington, Cromhall, Tortworth, Stinchcombe and your preferred route home.
Here’s a link to the route: Bitton and the Golden Valley
Hope to see some of you on Thursday. You never know – it might not even rain! Feel free to come just to the coffee stop or join en route.
