[svccridesupdate] Tomorrow’s drive to start ride + news of Dudbridge alternative

Further to recent emails, I can confirm that my planned ride, starting in Shrivenham, will take place tomorrow. Here are the details (please note the earlier than usual 12.30pm start time):

Location of start of ride: Car park in Martens Road, Shrivenham (free parking).     what3words location of car park is  inferior.galloped.youthful

Directions for start point: Heading south on A419 from Cirencester, take Shrivenham exit (on A420, turning left off A419). After about 3 miles turn right off A420 to Shrivenham. Keep going straight on into Shrivenham until you get to the left turn to Highworth – turn left here and then first left into Martens Road, where the car park is immediately on your left. (There is a height restriction on entry to the car park – if you have your bike on the roof of your car you will need to remove it before entering the car park or it will be removed for you!).

Start time: 12.30pm. Please arrive in good time to be ready to start riding at 12.30pm.

Ride details:

  • 36 miles, medium paced, with a coffee stop at Goodies Café, Lambourn.

  • The ride goes through some lovely country with far reaching views and on quiet roads, circumnavigating White Horse Hill (but with just 1,472 feet / 449 meters of climbing).

  • Route: Shrivenham – Uffington – Letcombe Regis – over the Ridgeway to Lambourn – Ashbury – Bishopstone – Bourton – Shrivenham

I look forward to seeing some of you in Shrivenham, but, for any of you who may instead want to take advantage of the good weather to do a ride from the usual Dudbridge start point tomorrow,  please note that Mike Weaver has kindly volunteered to lead such a ride and he will be sending an email later today to confirm the details.
