[svccridesupdate] Sunday Ride to Castle Combe and the Annual Cyclists’ Church Service

Good Morning all

Tomorrow the ride is to the Annual Cyclists' Church Service at St Andrews Church in Castle Combe. The service begins at 2:30pm and is followed by tea and cakes in the church provided by Hugh Marshall from Bristol.
Meet 9:30am at Wallbridge, Stroud.
Then Nailsworth, Avening, Chavenage, Westonbirt and Sherston with a stop at the Courtyard Cafe after about 17 miles.
We will continue through Badminton, Alderton, Littleton Drew, The Gibb and the scenic route into Castle Combe after about 33 miles altogether. We will probably have time for a stop at the Old Stables, Castle Combe for a drink and a snack.
On the way back we will climb out of Castle Combe and then Grittleton, skirting round Sherston, Easton Grey, Shipton Moyne, Tetbury, Avening and your preferred route home. 57 miles in total with 780m of climbing.
Here's a link to the route: Castle Combe 2024
However if you would like a shorter ride you could drive and join us in Sherston at about 11:15am. Here's a link to the route from Sherston and back to Sherston again. Sherston to Castle Combe and back  23 miles with less than 300m of climbing.
You are welcome to join or leave anywhere else en route of course.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow. The weather forecast is a bit cooler than the last few days and windier again but it is meant to stay dry.
