[svccridesupdate] Fwd: Weekend Visit Tyntestfield 25
Dear all,
Our proposed cycle venture to Tyntestfield is fast approaching. For more info please refer to my earlier email.
I now want to find out who wants to do what? That said, I’m really going to focus on those who are going to do the full weekend, such as:
Cycle there and back, with full camping attire. Camp out for two nights and of course, do one of the cycling options on the Saturday and the visit to this unique NT property on the Sunday.
Can you please remind me of your preferred dates again.
13-15 June
or
11 – 13 July
Also let me know what itinerary you plan to do.
Please have a look at my email dates 16 April.
Let me know if you require any more information.
Yours,
Paul

Subject: Fw: Weekend Visit Tyntestfield 13-15 June 25
Dear all,You may remember, last year some of us did a cycling/camping weekend to Cockleford and a Sunday cycle ride to the NT property at Snowshill. This year I’m proposing that we combine both, a cycling/camping venture with a visit to the NT property at Tyntestfield, for info please click the link below. Its SW of Bristol.I’m working closely with Clare, as she knows the area much better than me.In brief the outline plan with options would be.Dates: 13 – 15 June (also possibly 11-13 July)Fri 13 Jun: Depart from the Stroud area, cycling the 50 miles to Myrtle Camp site, which is near NailseaSat 14 Jun: All day cycle tour of the Mendips or The Pier to Pier or The Strawberry routes, info and links for the latter two are below. These two I’ve never done, but seem very pleaseant, flat and not overly long, should be a pleasant day out. The Mendips tour woulds be longer and steeper, going up either Chedder Gorge or Burrington Combe, both of these I’ve done. The Mendips plateau is famous for its wild unspoild character and unique limestone landscape. It also has special flora and fauna.Sun 15 Jun : Visit Tyntestfield House and return back to the Stroud area.Route: Still TBC, Outward journey, more than likely, down the Severn Vale, over the Avonmouth Bridge, heading to Myrtle Camp site, have been informed that there is a pub just across the road! Returning via a route between around Bristol and Bath etc, heading N to Stroud. Both the outbound and return routes should be around 50 miles.Option: I’m very much aware that only a few of us have bike racks and panniers, so am proposing some alternatives.1. Cycling/camping. Carry all our own camping attire, tents, sleeping bags etc..the full monty as you might say!2. Do the whole weekend/ride, but stay in a guest house/pub. But you would have to bring some items, toiletries, possibly a change of clothing, which could fit into a small rucksack.3. Drive there and do Saturdays ride. Stay overnight, either camp or stay in more comfortable accommodation. Please let me know what you think and if you are interested any of the 3 options.Clare, thank you for all your ideas and assistance with this.More than likely I won’t be able to make the AGM, Scouting duties! As I was hoping that I might give you and bit more of a speil on it.Just to add, I would like us to stick to some sort of a workable plan. Lessons learnt from last years Snowshill venture, even though it went well, trying to accommodate everyones wishes did cause some inconvenience (no mid morning break!) and delays for those who eventually did it.Yours,Paul07866412611Sent from my iPhone
