[svccridesupdate] Dorset Ambulance Coast to Coast

In case anyone is interested in a fun event the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance have an annual coast to coast fundraising ride. It starts at Watchet near Minehead in Somerset and ends at West Bay near Bridport in Dorset. It’s about 55 miles  and 3500 ft ascent. 

They lay on a coach to take riders and cycles from West Bay to Watchet in time for the 10am start and also from West Bay back to Watchet in late afternoon so you don’t have to worry about how to get back ti the start. The route is predominantly on back roads and there are good feed stations. There are also hard nuts who ride there and back on the same day. 

This year it’s on Saturday 18th May. Entry fee inc coach is £30 and suggested minimum sponsorship is £50. 

I have ridden it several years and it’s a great event although ‘22 was foul weather.
