[svccridesupdate] Clare’s Ride to Hill and Tortworth Tomorrow
Dear Members,
You will have heard from Clare that she is unable to lead tomorrow’s ride because of her back.
I’m sure you will join me in wishing her a speedy recovery and that she is cycling again very soon.
I have volunteered to lead her ride tomorrow.
We will go to Hill (for the monthly cake sale) and Tortworth and the route is 54 miles long with 2,165 feet of climbing.
The ride will start at 9.30 am at Wallbridge then we will go to Kings Stanley, Frocester, Cambridge, Purton and Berkeley before arriving at Hill at about 12.00 pm, when the village hall opens for the cake sale. Don’t forget to bring some cash because you can‘t pay by card.
After demolishing as many cakes as you fancy we will head to Thornbury then Cromhall before stopping at the Hideout Lounge at Tortworth.
After leaving Tortworth we will go to Stinchcombe, Wick and Cam then you can take your preferred route home.
Here is a link to the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48536929
The weather today is lovely and sunny but I’m afraid that tomorrow doesn’t look as good – showers are forecast, with heavier rain towards the end of the afternoon.
If you would like to join us en route or meet us at Hill please feel free to do so.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow.
