[svccridesupdate] Avon Cycle Way Ride, Treasure Hunt and Cycle Spine
Hi all
There were 15 riders on Saturday for the Avon Cycle Way Ride and we had a great day. We saw a steam train at Avon Valley Railway, the stone circle at Stanton Drew, Chew Valley Lake and a real variety of landscapes from the Mendips to the flatter lands near the Bristol Channel. It was very bracing at Clevedon but luckily the wind was mainly behind us for the last section over the Avonmouth Bridge and back through Thornbury to Wickwar. We even had a quick ice cream stop at the shop in Easter Compton. Well done to everyone for making it all the way round – about 90 miles!
Treasure Hunt – Saturday 15th July – meeting 2pm for a 2:30pm start. Many thanks to those people who have signed up for the Treasure Hunt. If you are coming, please sign up by Wednesday 12th July at the latest so that we can make sure that we have all the resources ready. Just send a reply to this email. You will be working in teams of 2 so you can either sign up as a pair or we can put you into a pair on the day.
Finally a public consultation will be starting soon about the Cycle Spine through Gloucester City Centre. Many of our club rides travel through Gloucester and I am sure that some of you have some strong opinions about how the experience could be improved for cyclists. If you want to find out more about the proposals and about how to take part in the consultation, go to: https://haveyoursaygloucestershire.uk.engagementhq.com/cyclespine-gloucester-city-centre
