[svccridesupdate] A Celebration of Christmas for Cyclists svcc club music group

Hi All, following Clare’s SVCC  email outlining forthcoming club events yesterday – which included Sunday 8th December, ‘A Celebration of Christmas for Cyclists’ at St Matthew’s Cainscross – we discussed a little while back in the year on a Sunday afternoon bike ride the possibility of forming an SVCC cyclists music band for this event, knowing we have some hidden musical talent in the club!!

So….

Calling all musicians and singers in Stroud Valleys Cycling Club! I am organising a small group of musicians and singers to provide music for the above event at St Matthew’s. It would be quite fun to see some out of the usual licra and dressed up in their Sunday best!! The idea is to play the music for this event about 6 carols with some musical pieces as folk arrive – I play the guitar and can lead sing in my alter ego and am looking for fellow cyclists in the club to join me. Ideally you can read music, have a good sense of rythm/ timing and outgoing enough to stand up front and lead everyone in a good sing. So far we are a 3 piece with keyboard player and another guitarist. If you play a bass instrument/guitar, drums/percussion or classical instrument eg. violin, cello etc.etc. and if you sing, singers needed including basses, tenors, trebbles and supranos – I would like to hear from you. There are limited places so don’t miss out on your chance to get up and demonstrate your talent at this unique event!! The music/carols will be emailed as PDF’s, which musicians can either print or use on a suitable ipad/tablet and will include some well known Christmas carols from past events.  Please respond to this email if you would like to take part no later than Friday 8th November. There will need to be at least one practice and homework will be required which cannot be handed in late!!
I hope some can join the fun!!
Mike
