[svccridesupdate] Visit Snowshill National Trust (NT) Manor Sun 1 Sep 24

Dear all,
Following on from my previous (21 Aug – attached) email.
Details on tomorrow’s ride to Snowshill NT Manor.
Meet: Wallbridge, Stroud @ 9am
Mid morning break: The Nuttery, Notgrove Hub
GL54 3BS. Some of you may want to meet us there, giving you a shorter ride of about 25 miles. There is stacks of parking. Notgrove will be on the return route.
Lunch: At the NT cafe, or if you don’t want to visit the Manor there is always Snowshill Arms.
For non  NT members, the entry fee is £14.00. If you’re a member then don’t forget to bring your membership cards.
The visit, including lunch should take no longer than two hours. There is a lot
to see, but it’s all in a fairly confined space.
Details on the Manor are attached.
The route: Roughly as for RWGPS. From Stroud about 72 miles. For those who are concerned about the distance, elevation and pace. This will not be a Thursdays Speedy Gonzales type ride! The idea is to make it a pleasurable and interesting day-out! I will always wait at the top of a hill/junction, giving everyone time to refresh and recover. Well that’s the plan!
Weather: A warm and humid day. With the possibility of some  heavy showers, but lots of sunny spells.
Intentions: Those who have informed that they are planning to do the whole ride are:
Clare S
Matt U
It would be useful if you could let me know if any of you are planning to join us, or even doing the shorter option?
You could always drive there and meet us for lunch etc.
Think that’s it. Please get back to me if you have any questions.
It should be a lovely day out.
I’ll try and put this on our WhatsApp group as well.
Yours,
Paul

Dear all,
Please note this has nothing to do with tomorrow’s ride!

The proposed all day ride to National Trust (NT)  Snowshill Manor is fast approaching.
At this stage I just want to sound you out, as there are possible options.
That said, I’m planning on leading a full days ride, covering over 70 miles, Starting and finishing at Wallbridge, with a proposed departure time of 9am.
This will involve a mid morning break a Northgrove Hub cafe…a new location, I think. Then onto Snowshill, for lunch and a look around the Manor and garden, this should take about a hour, please refer to the route RWGPS.
I’ve been there before, it’s hugely interesting, as is the previous owner, Charles Paget Wade, see attached info.
Other permutations:
Am aware that all my not want to do the full 70+ mile ride with over 5,000 ft of climbing, so:
1. You could meet us at Notgrove Hub. That will give you a round trip of less than 25 miles. We will be coming back through there.
2. You could meet us en route, you choose the distance that you want to do
3. Do your own route
4. You could drive to Snowshill and meet us there
Of course much will depend on the weather!
Those of you who are NT members will not have to pay the £14.00 entrance fee.
You may not want to go into the Manor, so there is the delightful Snowshill Arms for your vittles and refreshments. But up to you to book it.
Let me know what you thinking. I’ll send out detailed  instructions nearer the time.
I hope there will be some interest, as it could be a nice day out. It’s a kind of a ride with a different!
Yours,
Paul R
