[svccridesupdate] Tuesday 16th July drive to start ride – Northleach and the Coln Valley – advance notice

This is a quick heads up that there will be a drive to start ride next Tuesday (16th July). This may help some of you to organise car sharing to get to the start of the ride and I would also like to check that we have enough interest to diverge from the normal Dudbridge based Tuesday ride – so please let me know if you plan to come (no need for negative answers).

I plan to resend this email on Monday (in the normal way).

Meeting time and place:

We will meet in the car park for The Gateway Café / Cotswold Outdoor, Cotswold Water Park, near South Cerney (Spine Road East,GL7 5TL). Having turned off Spine Road East, I suggest that you turn into the parking area on your right. Please arrive in time to set up for a 1.30pm departure.

(There is also the option to ride to and from the start / finish point if you wish to put in considerable extra mileage and do not mind getting back home reasonably late).

Destination:

The Curious Wine Cellar in Northleach, which does coffee and cakes (its not just a wine bar).

The route:

The route is a 37 miles (pretty flat) and takes in part of the very attractive Coln Valley: Gateway Café CP – Cerney Wick – Marston Meysey – Fairford – Coln St Adwyns – Aldsworth – Northleach –  Coln Valley to Bibury – Ampney Crucis – Gateway Café CP.

See details of the route via the following link (anti-clockwise direction):

As mentioned above, please send me an email to let me know if you plan to join this ride (no need for negative answers). Here’s hoping for a dryer, sunnier day than some of us experienced this afternoon!
