[svccridesupdate] SVCC – A Ride For Val
Dear all,
You are probably aware tomorrow I’m down to lead a club ride, also there is Val Sharp’s funeral, so I’m going to combine both.
The outline plan:
Meet: Dudbridge @ 11am
Route: More or less as for RWGPS, approximately 39 miles.
Lunch: The Pilot Inn
Val’s funeral: This will be at Coney Hill Crematorium Field Cottage Coney Hill Rd Glos GL4 4PA I know that some of you are looking at driving there. Please note post code.
Time frame: Difficult to work out how long it will take to cycle there, planning to arrive by 3pm for a 3.30 pm funeral.
If we get there too early, there is a waiting room with toilets where we can stay and keep warm, also near by is the Willow Tea Rooms, but that depends on availability. This is where the Wake will be held.
It is planned that the after funeral function will be finished by 4.30 pm, this means that for the latter part of the cycle ride back to Stroud we will be in the dark. So, please bring lights front/rear and high viz jacket.
Let me know if you want to leave the ride after lunch?
Reference lunch: The Pilot Inn has asked me to provide numbers? Greatly appreciated if you could let me know if you’re planning to stay for some vittles?
Would be good to wear club kit!
