[svccridesupdate] Sunday Ride to Castle Combe Annual Cyclists’ Church Service

Good Morning Everyone
Tomorrow’s ride is 57 miles with 760m of climbing to the Annual Cyclists’ Church Service at St Andrews Castle Combe.
Meet 9:30am at Wallbridge Lock, Stroud. Then Nailsworth, Avening, Chavenage, Westonbirt, Sherston – with a stop at the Courtyard Cafe after about 18 miles. (ETA – about 11:15). Then Sopworth, Badminton, Alderton, Littleton Drew, The Gibb and the back way into Castle Combe, arriving after 33 miles. There will be an opportunity to have a lunch stop at the Old Stables Cafe or bring some sandwiches and find a scenic place to sit and enjoy them (amongst all the tourists!).
The Church Service starts at 2:30pm followed by tea and cakes.
On our return, we will go through Grittleton, quite close to Sherston, Easton Grey, Shipton Moyne, Tetbury (where I will leave you) , Avening and back to Stroud.

If you would like a shorter, car-assisted route from Sherston of 23 miles with about 300m of climbing, see below: Sherston to Castle Combe <ridewithgps.com/routes/46167875>
Hope to see some of you tomorrow.
The weather forecast is as expected for April – sunshine and showers, a bit blustery but the wind should be behind us on the way home, about 13 C.
