[svccridesupdate] Summer Cycling Events
Hi everyone
The weather may not have been very summery lately but it hasn't stopped us from getting out on our bikes. We had a really good turnout – 18 – on our Bike Week ride on Sunday to Leaf and Ground even if we were more wrapped up than normal for June.
We have some more Summer Cycling events coming up.
On Sunday 14th July, Stroud Valley Velos are organising the Tour de France Lynch for the 10th year. There is a choice of 2 routes – 39 miles and 54 miles – and it is free to members of the Stroud Valley Velos or £10 for non-members. There were quite a few people on the WhatsApp group who were interested in going and it would be good if we had a group from SVCC, so let us know if you sign up.
Also Paul would like to share this message about an upcoming bikepacking trip along King Alfred's Way:
Have come up with a date for this. Monday 9 – Friday 13😳 September, a 5 day adventure. Am taking this amount of time so that I can look at the places of historical interest and take in the view…of course I talk a lot😂
Will be using a mountain bike and carrying just the basic essentials.
Will be camping, some at proper campsite others out in the wild, woods, looking at the stars etc. This may not be for you. However if it is, let me know. Perhaps you can help me with the planning and preparation, admin etc?
A trip long overdue!
Yours,
Paul R

Hope to see some of you on Saturday's Over and Over ride and good luck if you're doing Thursday's ride to Hay on Wye!
