[svccridesupdate] Ride to Thornbury and Charfield = CANCELLED
Good Morning all,
As you may have already guessed I have decided to cancel today’s ride.
The Yellow warning is still in place and the wind forecast has worsened and it is predicted to get stronger as the day goes on, with gusts over 40mph. It is the gusts which worry me the most as recent experience has shown me.
I am sorry about this but maybe another day.
Best wishes – stay safe.

Hi All,
I am aware that there is a Yellow weather warning out for tomorrow, with a steady Easterly of ~14 mph predicted. This shouldn’t be too bad, but there may be much stronger gusts. So I will email at around 8 am if I have decided to call it off.
The route I have planned is here on RWGPS.
Starting at Wallbridge 09.30
Heading out through Stanley Downton, Eastington, Cambridge, Slimbridge, Berkeley, and Hill to Thornbury.
Brunch at Costa coffee after 25 miles.
Then back through Rockhampton, Stone, and Huntingford to Charfield, where we will stop for tea and cake at the Vintage Birdcage Cakery after another 10 miles.Returning via Bradley Green, Old London Road and on towards Nympsfield where you can pick your own route home, hopefully before it is getting too dark. But please remember LIGHTS may be necessary as it is the shortest day of the year but one!
Total should be just under 50 miles.
You are welcome to join on route, please let me know if so.Matt Utting
