[svccridesupdate] Cycle to ride Ashleworth Hub Tue 22 Jul 25

Dear all,
Sorry about the late response in getting these details out to you. Basically it’s a rehash of last year’s ride and it’s from my home. So those of you who want a bit of a challenge could meet me at Pitchcombe or Edge. If not make your own way direct to Ashleworth.
Location: Meet at Ashleworth Hub, Its a village shop/café come post office. Please do not use (if driving) the parking bays outside the Hub, as these are regularly used by the locals. There is ample parking on the nearby roads and streets.
Timings: Can you please be there for 13.30 hrs
Travel: Ashleworth is about 17 miles from the centre of Stroud, heading North, going via Gloucester and Maisemore. The post code is GL19 4JG. The map (OS) grid reference 813256.
Might be worth considering car sharing. I will probably cycle there, would anyone else like to join me, departing from Pitchcombe, ETD 12 noon? Will only use my car if the weather is unfavourable. if the latter, then I would be more than happy to give someone a lift, I’ve got a bike rack.
The Route: The Newent Loop, is about 33 miles, it has an easy elevation, so as you might say, it’s an ‘ideal Tue club ride’! Starting and finishing by the Hub. Please refer to RWGPS, roughly this will be our direction of travel, going in an anti-clockwise direction.

Vittles: There are no obvious café on route, apart from Newent and that this stage we are not that far from the finish line, so am proposing that we have our afternoon break at Ashleworth…..at the end of the ride.
Weather: Looks ok, warm, possibly some showers…but then again who knows, the Meteorology people often get it so wrong!!

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Kind regards,
