[svccridesupdate] Castle Combe Cyclist Service and SVCC AGM

Hi everyone
I am pleased to say that the Castle Combe Cyclist Service is back again this year and it is a significant anniversary as it is 80 years since the first one that was held at Castle Combe.
Hugh Marshall has stepped down after many years organising the event and Alex Rendu from Bristol CTC has stepped forward into the breach.
It will be taking place on Sunday 13th April at 2:30pm at St Andrew's Church in Castle Combe. There is a short service followed by tea and cakes. There is a flyer attached to this email with more details.
There will be a SVCC ride to the event. You can either cycle all the way there and back from Stroud – a ride of about 57 miles with nearly 800m of climbing. See the route here: Stroud to Castle Combe
Alternatively you can drive to Sherston, where we are stopping for morning coffee, and do a much shorter route to Castle Combe and back of 23 miles with about 300m of climbing. See the route here: Sherston to Castle Combe and back
If you are going to attend the Service, please let me know by sending an email to stroudvalleyscc@gmail.com by 31st March at the latest, so that Alex can make sure there is enough tea and cake!
Finally, it's nearly time for the SVCC AGM, so put this date in your diary: Saturday 26th April at 3:30pm. It will take place in the Pavillion in Victory Park, Cainscross. More details to follow.
