[svccridesupdate] Carol Service – 8th December
Dear Member,
John Thatcher and I have agreed that in view of the very low number of people who have registered for the planned fun ride from the Subscription Rooms to St Matthews Church before the Carol Service on 8th December, it will be cancelled.
The people who were planning to go on the fun ride will be invited to cycle directly to the church for the lunch and the service. We will also invite them to join us for the ride across the Severn Vale before the service, which Paul Rothwell is planning to lead.
I am very pleased to report that the number of members who plan to attend the lunch and the Carol Service is currently 45, which is well up on the 30 we had in 2022 and 2023. We will have members from our club, Stonehouse Wheelers, Bristol, Cheltenham and Thornbury.
The introduction of the musical group to augment the traditional organ music seems to have encouraged more members to attend and thanks are due to Mike Weaver for organising this and to all the club members who form the group.
Members are of course free to make their way to the service by whatever means they choose although I do hope that the weather is kind to those who plan to cycle.
I hope to see you at the service.
With best wishes,
Steve.
