[svccridesupdate] Sunday 6th September Ride to Ship Inn Community Space and Hill Teas
Hi Everyone
On Sunday there is a community event taking place at the Ship Inn Community Space as part of the Walkfest Welcome and John Thatcher and Steve Brawley are going to be there to publicise our cycling club.
I have decided to lead a ride which will go to the event with an option to stay there for an hour or so to help publicise SVCC before then continuing to Hill Teas for some afternoon cake.
There are several options: 1. Meet at *9:30am* at Wallbridge Lock and ride up through Whiteshill to Edge and then Brookthorpe, Haresfield and Standish arriving at the Ship Inn after about 13 miles / 20km at about 11am. You can then have some refreshments from one of the stalls and help to publicise the club. We will then continue to Hill at *12:30pm *through Frocester, Cam, Breadstone and Berkeley, arriving there after another 17 miles / 29km at about 2:15pm. We will then return, full of cake, through Rockhampton, Stone, Damery, Stinchcombe, Cam and back to Stroud. The total ride is 51 miles / 83 km with about 2,500ft / 775m of climbing.
2. Come to the Ship Inn at sometime between 11am – 12:30pm, ready to set off from there by *12:30pm* at the latest and join the ride to Hill. This will shorten the ride by about 13 miles and cut out most of the climbing too.
3. If you don’t want to attend the event at the Ship Inn, meet at *9:30am *at Wallbridge as in Option 1 and ride with us through Whiteshill, Edge etc. but carry on straight to Hill for the lunchtime session between 12pm and 1pm.

Don’t forget – only cash at Hill Teas.
Hope to see some of you on Sunday
