[svccridesupdate] Thursday’s Longer Ride to Aust
Good afternoon,
Thursday’s longer ride will be to Aust.
It will be very hot, with the temperature expected to peak at 33C during the afternoon.
In this light Ian Cooper has devised a route for me which is intended to minimise the amount of serious climbing and to incorporate an afternoon stop at Wholly Gelato to help us to cool off and top up our bottles.
We will depart from Wallbridge at 9.00 am to get away before the temperature really starts to ramp up.
The total distance is 79 miles (127 km) with 2,552 feet (778 metres) of climbing.
We will pass through:
Frocester Cam Stinchcombe Damery Tortwoth, where will have coffee at The Hideout Lounge Cromhall Tytherington Earthcott Olveston Pilning Aust, where we will have lunch at the Boar’s Head Elberton Oldbury on Severn Berkeley Halmore Slimbridge Frampton on Severn Elmore, where we will stop at Wholly Gelato Stonehouse

We will have our coffee stop at the Hideout Lounge (16.5 miles) at Tortworth, lunch at the Boar’s Head at Aust (35.6 miles) then back via Berkeley and Elmore, where we will stop at Wholly Gelato.
