[svccridesupdate] Summer Solstice Sunday Ride 21st June to Sherston and Warmley
Good Morning All
The temperature is rising and tomorrow promises to be hot, dry and sunny.
I have planned a 69 mile / 110 km ride with just under 1000m of climbing to Sherston and Warmley. We will take it steady with lots of stops for drinks and applying more sun-cream.
Meet 9:30am at Wallbridge Lock. Then along the A46 to Nailsworth, Avening, Tetbury, Westonbirt with a stop at Sherston Courtyard Cafe after about 17 miles. We will then continue through Alderton, Burton, Hinton, Pucklechurch, Siston and the Warmley Waiting Room on the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path after another 17 miles.
We will then go back up the Cycle Path to the old Mangotsfield Station and join the Ring Road cycle path, using the new Badminton Road bridge over the M4 – only opened to bikes and pedestrians on Friday and motor vehicles today. Then along the lanes to Coalpit Heath and Frampton Cotterell, Frampton End, Iron Acton, along the lanes to Cromhall, Tortworth and Stinchcombe.
