[svccridesupdate] Update on the Carol Service – Sunday 7th December
Dear Members,
The Carol Service is rapidly approaching and will take place on Sunday 7th December.
You will see on the Rides List for December that Clare is leading a ride to the service, leaving Wallbridge at 9.30 am and stopping at the Canteen in Nailsworth before heading to St Matthew’s Church in Cainscross for the buffet lunch at 12.30 pm.
This year the service will take place in the church hall rather than the church itself because the church roof needs emergency repairs and for health and safety reasons we cannot use the church.
This may work out for the best because the church tends to be rather chilly in December and the hall will definitely be warmer and hopefully provide a better community spirit in the smaller space.
Our organist, Christopher Boodle, has confirmed that he is happy to play the piano in the hall.
The Order of Service has been finalised and is attached for your information.
Hard copies will be available on the day.
We are expecting a good turnout this year, with around 50 people currently lined up.
The Stonehouse Wheelers and Thornbury Cycling Club are also running club rides to the service.
If you haven’t decided whether you are coming just let me know by the end of the day on Thursday 4th December if you plan attend so we can make sure there is plenty of food and enough copies of the Order of Service.
A quick summary of the day:
Venue – St Matthew’s Church, Cainscross Buffet lunch 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm Carol Service 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm Tea, coffee and cakes 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm
Please call me on 07971 141910 or send me an email at Steve49.brawley@gmail.com if you have any questions.
With Compliments of the Season,
Steve.
