Think that I have mentioned this before, I’m looking at doing a ride with a difference.
There is one such local off/on road circa 30 mile, mostly on bridleways. Its fairly steep in parts and if wet can be hard going, but it will be summer, ah…then again we know how fickle the British weather can be!
The propose route, it may vary slightly:
Start and finish Pitchcombe Village Hall
Colesbourne (probably camp)
At the moment Chris Padmore has confirmed that he would like to join me. Am looking for another two cyclist to join us. Please let me know if you are interested?
Criteria: (This is basic wild camping…….no frills!)
Need a mountain bike, certainly with front suspension.
Panniers & bags
Normal cycling attire
Some spare clothing eg shirt, shorts, socks, fleece etc
Water proof top and bottoms (depending on weather)
Camping working in pairs
Single fly sheet/tarp for overhead cover with pegs and bungees or a very light weight tent
Light weight sleeping bag
Short sleeping mat
Boil in the bag food, to include an evening and breakfast meal
Water bottles x 2
Small gaz stove, between two (I can provide)
Mess cooking tins, between two (I can provide)
Toileiteries, really only need wet wipes, tooth paste/brush, sun screen
Will meet a couple of weeks before the trip to finalise all the details.
